Faces & Places of Ireland Photography Competition In Support Of Brainwave The Irish Epilespsy Assocation

We at Dublin Photography School are running our 2013 Calendar Photography Competition in

support of Brainwave - The Irish Epilepsy Association. The competition runs from, Wednesday,

August 29th 2012 to midnight, Friday October 19th 2012. We are looking for 13 images in total,

one for the cover of the calendar and 12 images for each month of the year.

Our photography competition theme is “Faces & Places of Your Ireland".

Let your creativity flow and capture what you feel is "Your Ireland" through the faces and places

that you encounter every day. What do you feel is uniquely Irish? Is it a striking landscape, a

sandy beach or a fabulous view that may be right outside your window? Is it a busy street

scene, or the faces of those taking part in one of our many cultural events that happen across

our lovely Island? Is it the star of your local gaelic football team jumping up to catch the ball? Is

it a curious character that lives on your street? You decide. Let your photograph tell a story and

let it be the one that stands out from all the others. Think outside the box and look for an

interesting and unique approach to what you what to photograph.

Entries can be in black & white or colour, can be taken during the day or at night and can be

taken with any kind of camera from the smallest compact digital camera to the latest DSLR.

The judges will include a representative from Dublin Photography School and a representative

from Brainwave. The competition is not open to professional photographers but is open to

everyone else and to anyone who is 16 years of age or older. The 2013 calendar will be

available to buy from mid November. You will be able to purchase the calendar from Dublin

Photogrphy School at www.dublinphotographyschool.ie and from Brainwave at

www.epilepsy.ie

All winning photographs will be mounted and framed and

on display in the Carmelite Centre, Dublin 2 until the New Year.

How To Enter:

Send a maximum of three high resolution images to dpscharitycalendar@gmail.com. The files

must be renamed with your first and last name. In your entry email include a few words about

the story being told behind each photograph. State your full name, daytime telephone number

and where and when the photograph was taken. Images which are considered to breach the

entry condition will not be accepted into the competition. Photographs must have been taken in

Ireland and within the last 12 months. The deadline for all photographs to be received is

midnight, Friday October 19th 2012. All profits from the sale of the calendar go to Brainwave -

The Irish Epilepsy Association, the national charity supporting and representing people with

epilepsy in Ireland.

Employees of Dublin Photography School are not eligible to enter. The judges decision is final

and no correspondence will be entered into. It is a condition of entry that Dublin Photography

School and Brainwave will be entitled to use or reproduce winning entries for the purposes of

promoting this and future competitions. Please note that images may be edited for printing

purposes. There will be 1 winning prize,1 second prize,1 third prize and 10 runner up prizes.

No cash alternatives will be offered. Any personal information may be used for marketing and

research purposes by Dublin Photography School or Brainwave. By entering into this
