Do you want to see one of  your stunning  photographs hanging on the wall in
many homes around the country?
We at Dublin Photography School are running a Calendar Photography Competition in Support of
Brainwave The Irish Epilepsy Association.
The competition runs from October 6th 2011 to midnight Friday November 18th 2011
We are looking for 13 images in total. 1 for the cover of the calendar and 12 images for the months of
the year.

Our photography competition theme is “The Four Elements” .
Let your creativity flow and capture  in your image what you feel is the essence of either Air, Earth, Fire or
Water. Entries can be in black & white or colour ,can be taken during the day or at night and can be
taken with any kind of camera from the smallest compact digital camera to the latest DSLR. The judges
will include, a representative from Dublin Photography School, a representative from Brainwave, and a
representative from Nikon. The competition is open to everyone. The calendar will be available to buy
from early December, all details to follow.

Photograph the wonder of Air - Cloud movement, skies, falling leaves in Autumn or stormy weather.

Photograph the beauty of Earth - Landscapes, flowers, nature or snow/ice.

Photograph the  light of  Fire - Stars, lights, traffic trails or balls of light.

Photograph the grace of Water - Silky waterfalls, lakes, beaches, or rivers.

Let your imagination run wild and think outside the box.

1st Prize - A Nikon D3000 SLR, a Hahnel Triad 60 Tripod & €150 Dublin
Photography School voucher.

2nd Prize -   A Hahnel Triad 60 Tripod, A Remote Shutter Release, 9 LED Night
Photography Torch & €100 Dublin Photography School voucher.

3rd Prize -  A Hahnel Triad 40 Tripod, A Remote Shutter Release & €50 Dublin
Photography School voucher.

How To  Enter:
Send a maximum of three high resolution images to dpscharitycalendar@gmail.com
The files must be renamed with your first and last name.
In your entry email state your full name,daytime telephone number, where the photograph was taken
and when. Images which are considered to breach the entry condition will not be accepted into the
competition. Photographs must have been taken in Ireland and within the last 12 months. The deadline
for all photographs to be received is midnight, Friday November 18th 2011. All profits from the sale of
the calendar go to Brainwave The Irish Epilepsy Association, the national charity supporting and
representing people with epilepsy in Ireland.

Terms & Conditions:
Employees of Dublin Photography School are not eligible to enter. The judges decision is final and no
correspondence will be entered into. It is a condition of entry that Dublin Photography School and
Brainwave will be entitled to use or reproduce winning entries for the purposes of promoting this and
future competitions. Please note that images may be edited for printing purposes. There will be 1
winning prize,1 second prize,1 third prize and 10 runner up prizes. No cash alternatives will be offered.
Any personal information may be used for marketing and research purposes by Dublin Photography
School or Brainwave. By entering into this competition, entrants are agreeing to abide by these rules
and any conditions.

Earth:
Connected to the North, Earth is considered the ultimate feminine element. The Earth is fertile and stable, associated with the rebirth. The planet itself is a ball of life.

Fire: Fire is a purifying, masculine energy, associated with the South, and connected to strong will and energy. Fire both creates and destroys, and symbolizes the fertility of the God. Fire can heal or harm, and can bring about new life or destroy the old and worn

Water:
Water is a feminine energy and highly connected with the aspects of the Goddess. Used for healing, cleansing, and purification, Water is related to the West, and associated with passion and emotion.
